We strive to promote growth and happiness to the individuals we serve. At Helping Hands day program we promote individuals to become independent to the best of their ability. We include building socialization skills, safety awareness, developing self esteem, and encouraging the use of basic life skills. Of course we also have fun!
The day program includes a full kitchen were all individuals can learn the basic skills of preparing a meal, from writing a list for ingredients, shopping, cooking, and cleaning up after the meal! Friday is our cooking day, so join us for this fun filled learning experience!
We also have an arts and crafts area complete with supplies for any project your creative mind can conjure up! We always encourage everyone to pick an activity or project of your choice, Helping Hands staff are here to help if you have trouble doing this on your own.
Entertainment! We have a music/movie area, where everyone can enjoy something. We have a little bit of everything, musical instruments, CD’s, movie days (with popcorn). We even have a staff member who loves to share his love of music with the group, by bringing in his guitar for a fun filled day of singing and dancing!
Learning! There is a separate room dedicated to learning, fully equipped with two computers and a printer. This allows everyone to use computer programs to expand on their knowledge with the assistance from staff members.
Please come and visit our newest addition! We have just finished the multi-sensory integration room. This room is fully equipped with an array of lights, relaxing music and sounds, and tactile objects. This room can be used for a learning experience or simply for someone who is have a rough day and needs a little respite.
