EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Caregiver Employment

  1. Basics of Opportunities  -  Although we will hire and train select individuals who are new to the caregiving field, Helping Hands is always looking for highly trained, experienced, responsible, and caring individuals to join what we believe to be the best staff of caregivers in the area. Best because we firmly believe that the caregiving staff is the heart and soul of the agency, and members of this staff deserve great honor and respect for the altruistic work that they do. Consequently, we do everything within our power to materially and spiritually demonstrate support of our caregivers, from paying the highest wages to providing the best benefits possible in the area. As a result, the best remain in the employment of Helping Hands, and over the course of time they have come to constitute a large core of very qualified, able and skilled caregivers.
  2. Flexibility in Opportunities  - Based upon the premise that caregivers do best when they are able to do what they enjoy doing, when, where and with whom they enjoy working, Helping Hands does everything within its power to listen to and consider caregivers' wishes in service assignments. So caregivers are free to stipulate when they would like to work (i.e., days and hours of the week), where they would like to work (i.e., cities, towns and neighborhoods), the type of service they would like to provide (i.e., personal care, homemaking, or habilitation), and the type of client they would like to work with (i.e., elderly, children, male, female, developmentally disabled, physically impaired, psychologically impaired, and so forth).  Of course, there can never be any guarantees that stipulated wishes will be met, but there is a guarantee that we will always try to do so.

  3. Caregiver Employment Benefits  -  Helping Hands Caregiver Staff receive:

  • Starting wage of $8.50 or more per hour, depending upon training, experience and status of  required certifications.

  • Regular reviews, the first after 3 months employment and annually thereafter, with opportunities for wage increases. Special reviews whenever and wherever indicated.
